Standard Switching Impulses IEC and IEEE
The wave shapes of standard impulse tests depend on equipment being tested:
- For air insulation and switchgear: 250/2500µs
- For transformer products: 100/1000µs
- For arrester sparkover tests:
- 30-60/90-180µs
- 50-300/400-900µs
- 1000-2000/3000-6000µs (The tail duration is not critical)
